This is for anyone who wants to build confidence with machine sewing, whether you’ve never touched a machine or just need some help troubleshooting.

Keep an eye out for more donation-based skillshares coming up at the house 👀. They are a way we all appreciate learning and sharing together, and are part of our fundraising to make Rumble sustainable. 🙏🏼💗

*This will be a full 3 hours, so please arrive a little early to settle in, get a cup of tea, and get set up*

Hour 1:
- Welcome / intros
- How to thread a sewing machine
- How to wind a bobbin
- Intro to thread types
- Choosing your stitch and stitch length
- Try out different stitches on scrap fabrics
- Troubleshoot thread tension problems
- Basic intro to patterns and cutting

Hour 2:
- Cutting and pinning together your pieces
- Beginning to stitch them together
- Making tubes for your straps
- Ironing seams

Hour 3:
- Continuing to stitch your bag & Finishing!

*If you have a sewing machine, please bring it, and your bobbins! to learn how to use your own machine, as they are all a little different*
*If you have a machine but don’t have bobbins, please message us so we can help you get the right bobbins*

Death Cafe Saturday April 19th from 3-5pm. Death Cafes are a loosely facilitated open group format for having conversations about death, grief, and mortality. They were created in response to the recognition for the lack of spaces available to process around these topics. We always have tea, coffee, and baked treats, but the group conversations are as dynamic and diverse as we are. All are welcome. Hope to see you there!

At our first group meeting in October, we had folks show up from every stage of life, with a huge variety of motivations that brought us together to discuss death and dying. In a culture that often buries these topics, despite their universal nature, having open and safe dialogue as a community is pretty special. Join us!
